 Best for travel and strollerJul 21, 2010
We had the Sleep Sheep for our son when he was a newborn and it was awesome...as mentioned by others, however, the main drawback was the automatic shut off after either 22 or 45 minutes. On the other hand, when used in the stroller, it kept outside noise from waking him and allowed me to time his naps, which was nice.
To provide all night long "white noise" we purchased the Marpac Sleep conditioner machine and it has been awesome (it's unfortunately really ugly, but I decorated it with stickers) At 14 months our little guy no longer naps in the stroller, but the sleep sheep on the go has been retired with full honors.

We just got back from an overseas trip. I had bought the Sleep Sheep for our trip...it was PERFECT! My baby loved it and I loved it as well. The ocean sounds were very helpful traveling around for 2 weeks in different places...it was comforting for both of us.

I am so glad that I got this as a shower gift. I had heard mixed reviews, but it works incredibly for my son! I even bought a second one as a back up, just in case, but for the past year this has been a lifesaver and has worked perfectly. I highly recommend it to any new mothers. Whenever my son would get fussy outside of the normal schedule, you press the bottom sleep button, which has whale sounds, and he is out again within minutes. It did take a little bit of time for us to get used to the noise on the monitor, but hang in there, it's worth it. Works like a dream! A+++

I purchased this for my newborn son and it helped me out on those cranky nights when he just couldn't get to sleep. When I first read about the product I was a little confused on how the song of a whale could help my child sleep, but it grabs his attention even if he's crying and calms him down. I love the fact that it plays for 45 minutes and the various noises. We love this product so much that I purchased one for my friend who is about to have a baby. In addition to the sounds, my son just loves to play with the sheep.

I bought my son the Gentle Giraffe first because I thought it was cuter and a little more unique (seemed like everyone had the sheep). As cute as it was, its noises are nothing compared to the Sleep Sheep. Gentle Giraffe has mother's heartbeat (which we never use), a waterfall (the only one that I have found to be conducive to sleep), and two other selections with "giraffe" sounds in them that are more suitable for playtime. After seeing the full-size Sleep Sheep at my SIL's house, I figured we would give it a shot. I figured if it didn't work for him, I would use it myself :) We got the To-Go size--it's a more manageable size for us and doesn't have the mother's heartbeat sound (since we don't like that sound anyway, this wasn't a big deal). My son is sleeping much better with this--he likes all of the sounds. They do well to settle him down and sometimes we see him just laying there listening to it calmly. I would highly recommend this product. I especially like the To-Go size because it is small enough to throw in the Pack & Play, stroller, car seat, crib. You can also remove the soundbox from the stuffed animal so that the Sheep can be washed.
