 Well-researched and objective information about vaccinesAug 30, 2010
I am trying to decide which vaccines I want my two month old son to receive and this book was extremely helpful to me. The research seems very thorough and each vaccine has its own chapter with sections on why people choose to give it to their children or not, info about the diseases' prevalence and potential health risks of both vaccine and disease (some diseases are very low risk, but are vaccinated against for 'herd immunity'), and Dr Sears' take on the importance of the vaccine. It's still a difficult decision because the book doesn't tell the reader what to do, just provides information to help make educated choices. To me, that makes it more trustworthy than other books that are very heavily weighted on one side of the vaccine issue.

 NEVER RECEIVED AND NO RESPONSE FROM SELLERAug 27, 2010
This item was NEVER received. Everything else from my order that day arrived timely. This vendor did not place a tracking number on my item and has failed to respond to my most recent email asking if it had been returned to them or if there is a chance they could track the item. I have to file a claim.

I really love this book so far. He clearly lists pros and cons of each vaccine and presents the material in a way that is understandable. I like that he makes no real recommendations and let's the reader decide what is best for their child. I appreciate his lists of ingredients in the vaccines as well as his notes on the common-ness of the disease and its threats. Would recommend this to a friend.
The perfect choiceAug 15, 2010
If you are a balanced parent who needs an objective book about immunization, then this is the perfect choice for you. We are first time parents of a wonderful, super healthy baby boy who soon will turn one. Although, I knew it was a lot of stuff out there about immunization, I didn't want to google blindly through an ocean of opinions, but read instead a book that explains me exactly how vaccines work. Dr. Sears does a wonderful job in writing in a very knowledgeable yet comprehensive manner about the diseases, the importance of a vaccine, the composition of the shots etc. I just love that he gives such an objective opinion, leaving you, the parent, making the right choice for your kid.
I believe vaccines helped and still help in eradicating a lot of bad diseases but I also believe that you don't have to overload the baby's body with some vaccines that can wait, be postponed or never being done ( ex. I'd rather leave him having the chickenpox than giving him the shot against it, same with the flu shot).
By choosing to give him only 2 shots at a time, our son never, ever had any side effect not even a touch of fever. Of course, every baby is different as well as every body is different but I know for sure that this approach helped his little body a lot.
Good job, dr. Sears!!!
