3Not able to use as a co-sleeperMay 09, 2009
I like the idea of using a co-sleeper, but this product never worked for us as one. Our mattress sits on a platform and we don't have box spring so we were unable to install this safely to the side of our bed. We are using it now only as a bassinet as it was cheaper to keep it than to return it. Instead we bought the the Baby Delight Inc. Supreme Snuggle Nest which we put in the middle of the bed and the baby slept very comfortably in that.

4I love it...not sure baby does, though.Dec 31, 2008
I bought this as an alternative to having baby in the bed with me, because I wanted him close by for breastfeeding and those middle-of-the-night "oh no, is he breathing" panic attacks. Unfortunately he doesn't sleep in it very well and usually ends up in bed with me anyway at night. I have to admit, though, that I haven't put a lot of energy into training him to sleep in it (I don't have much energy to spare these days and am grateful if he sleeps, period!) He does take daytime naps in it pretty well, though. Also, I have found that lifting him in and out of it is a bit more awkward from my bed than I imagined it would be, though it's certainly much more convenient than walking down the hall to a crib, so I'm not complaining. It's great that it converts to various structures, including a changing table, playpen, and free-standing bassinet, especially since it's a bit pricey for something they would otherwise outgrow in a few months. I don't recall it being too terribly difficult to assemble, by the way; I did it by myself when I was 7 months pregnant and it maybe took an hour or so? I'm glad I made this purchase and would recommend it to a friend.

5If you have a low bed this is what you need.Nov 18, 2008
We have an Ikea bed. It's 17 inches tall (measured from floor to top of mattress). This was the only co-sleeper that would work for us, especially since we could not easily raise our cheapo bed up (it needs support in the center of the frame). This co-sleeper is generously sized (same size as a standard pack-n-play) and really helps with night-time breastfeeding, especially if you have a standard, queen-size bed. Two adults and one newborn will rapidly run out of real estate in a queen-sized bed. The Arms Reach acts as a convenient, side-car arrangement that will minimize getting up and down to fetch baby for feedings. This plus a basket with a waterproof mat and diapering supplies located bedside will mean you don't have to get up out of bed to see to baby's needs in the wee hours and that can mean more rest for everyone. This co-sleeper will likely have a second life as a portable play-yard once the baby is bigger and sleeping in a full-sized crib. Well-made, portable and a great design.
